In the remote mountain village of Wolryeong-ri, residents begin disappearing one by one after sunset. Demoted journalist Lee Do-kyung enters the village to investigate but finds the locals silent and wary. With help from the village chief's daughter Se-young, he discovers records of an incident 30 years ago involving an abandoned mine. Twelve miners were buried in a collapse, but rescue teams found no bodies. Elders testify they've seen lights descending from the mountain every year since. As Do-kyung approaches the truth, bizarre phenomena intensify—pickaxe sounds from mine shafts at night, miner shadows appearing throughout the village, and a light on the mountain that all missing persons saw before vanishing. The village's decades-old secret is far more terrifying than superstition.
